Even though we have persistently sought a way to hold the Summer School IT Law and Legal Informatics 2020, upon close observation of the ongoing pandemic, we have to regrettably announce that the Summer School IT Law and Legal Informatics 2020 is cancelled. This is due to the COVID-19 related restrictions and rules and the negative trends in the current infection risk. The Summer School is in our view a opportunity to meet with people and get to know other researchers in the field through the combination of discussion on the topic and social events. With the current restrictions in place, we are unable to offer the above mentioned. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

The International Conference on New Technology Governance, which has traditionally been held during the Summer School, will be postponed.

Instead of the Summer School, a one-day Online Conference “IT and Legal Informatics 2020” was held on Tuesday, 11th August 2020, 10:00 – 17:10 (CEST).

No Summer School in 2021

In the light of the on-going restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, no summer school will be held in 2021. The Institute of Legal Informatics is considering to offer a one-week "summer camp" on issues in IT and law instead. Time frame: 9th to 20th August 2021. Further information will follow.
